The three-layer polyethylene (3PE) anti-corrosion coating offers excellent corrosion resistance. Thanks to its superior water and gas impermeability as well as its mechanical properties, it has been widely adopted in the petroleum pipeline industry.

Applications of corrosion‑resistant spiral‑welded steel pipes: The base materials for these pipes include spiral‑welded pipes, straight‑seam pipes, and seamless pipes, which are widely used in the petroleum, chemical, and natural gas industries. They are also employed in pipeline projects such as thermal power generation, wastewater treatment, water supply systems, bridge construction, steel structures, and offshore pile foundations, and are suitable for high‑rise building water supply, district heating networks, and self‑supporting applications.

At present, countries around the world attach great importance to research on corrosion control, and significant achievements have already been made in the field of pipeline anti-corrosion coatings. However, no new materials or technologies have yet emerged.
3PE-coated steel pipe It is a corrosion‑protection method for underground long‑distance pipelines. The outer surface employs hot‑melt winding technology, forming a three‑layer epoxy coating at the base—comprising an adhesive layer in the middle and a polyethylene protective layer on the exterior. The inner surface is protected by a hot‑spray epoxy powder coating process. The powder is heated to high temperatures until it melts, then uniformly applied to the pipe’s inner surface to create a steel–plastic alloy layer.
